Description:

Part of San Francisco International Airport’s Terminal 1 Redevelopment, Boarding Area B is a 500,000-square-foot concourse that redefines the modern travel experience through sustainability, comfort, and efficiency. The project replaced one of SFO’s oldest terminals with a light-filled, LEED Platinum- and WELL-certified facility serving 25 gates, new concessions, and upgraded passenger amenities. Executed through a carefully phased construction sequence to maintain full airport operations, the project exemplified collaboration and precision planning.

SDI provided comprehensive framing and drywall services across both airside and landside areas, leveraging preconstruction expertise, BIM coordination, and meticulous field execution to support the airport’s aggressive schedule and performance goals. The result is a world-class gateway that sets a new benchmark for sustainable aviation design and operational excellence.
