Description:

A 1.5-million-square-foot hospitality and entertainment complex, the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center brings a destination-scale experience to Central Texas. The development includes a 975-room hotel, the largest indoor waterpark in the United States, an expansive family adventure park, and more than 200,000 square feet of convention, ballroom, and exhibit space. The project blends African-inspired theming with large-scale structural systems, durable materials, and a high-performance building envelope tailored to Texas’ climate. Its façade incorporates panelized assemblies and varied exterior finishes that create visual depth across a broad multi-building footprint.

The project required disciplined coordination to manage its size, diverse program elements, and rapid delivery schedule. Long-span spaces, themed interiors, and humidity-sensitive environments drove careful detailing and enclosure strategies to ensure performance across the resort’s many uses. The result is a landmark destination that anchors regional tourism, supports large-scale events, and offers an immersive hospitality experience unique to the Texas market.
